Sukarno was the leader of his
country's struggle for independence from the Netherlands and was
Indonesia's first president, in office from 1945 to 1967. He was a
prominent leader of Indonesia's nationalist movement during the Dutch
colonial period, and spent over a decade under Dutch detention until
released by the invading Japanese forces. Sukarno and his fellow
nationalists collaborated to garner support for the Japanese war effort
from the population, in exchange for Japanese aid in spreading
nationalist ideas. Upon Japanese surrender, Sukarno and Mohammad
Hatta declared Indonesian independence on 17 August 1945, and Sukarno
was appointed as first president. He led Indonesians in resisting Dutch
re-colonization efforts via diplomatic and military means until the
Dutch acknowledgment of Indonesian independence in 1949.After
a chaotic period of parliamentary democracy, Sukarno established an
autocratic system called "Guided Democracy" in 1957 that successfully
ended the instability and rebellions which were threatening the survival
of the diverse and fractious country. The early 1960s saw Sukarno
veering Indonesia to the left by providing support and protection to the
Indonesian Communist Party (PKI) at the expense of the military and
Islamists. He also embarked on a series of aggressive foreign policies
under the rubric of anti-imperialism, with aid from the Soviet Union and
China. The 30 September Movement led to the destruction of PKI and his
replacement by one of his generals, Suharto, and he remained under house
arrest until his death.

Dear D,
I’m leaving this letter on your desk as an apologize that I may never be able to say directly to you. You need to know who exactly I am, more than a fifteen years old freshman in your high school, I always got my tongue twisted everytime I see those sparkling blue eyes of yours. You may say that I’m stronger than I thought just by looking through my smile, but here I am, telling you the truth.
I hate myself for saying this: I’m afraid we are no longer can stay together. It’s only the matter of time before my destiny decides the last day in my life.
Look, I’m sorry to tell this lately. I was just too happy to have you in my life. You are the greatest gift God gave me during my lifetime, and I just can’t lose you because of this thalassemia. If I only you can see beyond this reality, more than my fear to reveal truth, you would find the red string, it says “I love you”.
I’m sorry for hundreds of hope and expectation we’ve created together before, that would never be reached together. I will leave this world peacefully, and you will continue your life, bow down challenges, running faster, breath in the new air of spirit, and in the end, you will reach the top of your dreams. I believe with every single cell in my body that you are stronger than you thought, stronger than I thought, and stronger than the world thought.
You’ll be fine with or without me. But I’m here to promise you, I’ll always right beside you no matter what.
—
Daniel Dahlberg was at the moment in the end of his strength line. His hands frozen, holding those word lines that burned down his heart. A tear fell down from the corner of his eyes, rolling down his cheek, and dropped as the pouring rain outside his window.
It’s Clara.
It’s Clara who brought him down to his knees.
It’s Clara who flew him up in the sky without wings.
It’s Clara who blew butterflies to his stomach and fireflies upon his head.
It’s Clara who rose the sun by blooming a sweet smile.
It’s Clara who made him shooting stars in the night of December sky.
It’s Clara who created an imaginary world beyond reality.
It was Clara.
It is Clara.
And it will always be Clara.
As his feeling grew deeper and stronger, it led his feet swinging through the cold floor, faster and faster, out from his house, blended his tears with the pouring rain.
And there he goes, for the twentieth times in the last seven years, running seven kilometers, leaving his three floor mansion, black Mercedes Benz in the garage, abandoning his wet Ralph Lauren shirt, crossing weather pressure straight to the cemetery.
It’s always been, always be Clara.

Dasar-Dasar Speaking atau berbicara dalam bahasa inggris
Edit Posted by Unknown with No comments
Cara mudah belajar bahasa Inggris
berbicara, kita tidak mengucapkan I am (ai em) namun cukup mengucapkan
I’m (em). Berikut beberapa contoh dasar penggunaan I’m dalam bahasa
Inggris.
I’m tired.
I’m bad.
I’m hungry.
I’m fast.
I’m alone.
Anda
keadaan seseorang.
I’m extremely hungry.
I’m very handsome.
I’m terribly sorry.
I’m super nervous.
Menggunakan in/at/on
Anda
fisik lainnya. Beberapa contohnya adalah sebagai berikut.
I’m in a house.
I’m in a car.
I’m in front of the door.
Anda
Berbeda
dengan “in”, “at” digunakan untuk menunjukkan lokasi fisik yang
bersifat lebih umum. Beberapa contohnya adalah sebagai berikut.
I’m at the mall.
I’m at the airport.
I’m at bank.
I’m on the phone.
I’m on a sit.
I’m on a bus.
I’m on a car.
Menggunakan “good at”
Menggunakan
‘good at” merupakan sebuah pemberitahuan kepada seseorang bahwa Anda
unggul dalam sesuatu dan nyaman ketika melakukannya. Beberapa contohnya
adalah sebagai berikut.
I’m good at math.
I’m good at drawing.
I’m good at football.
I’m good at video games.
Menggunakan “I’m + kata kerja”
Menggunakan
“I’m + kata kerja” berarti Anda sedang mengekspresikan sebuah tindakan
Beberapa
contohnya adalah sebagai berikut.
I’m eating too much.
I’m drawing a cartoon.
I’m getting a lot of money.
I’m having a child.
Menggunakan “I’m getting”
Ketika
Anda menggunakan “I’m getting” maka itu berarti Anda sedang memperoleh
sesuatu, mendapatkan sebuah pengakuan, dan mencapai sebuah hal penting.
Beberapa contohnya adalah sebagai berikut.
I’m getting married.
I’m getting sick.
I’m getting older.
I’m getting a new car.
Menggunakan “I’m trying”
Ketika
mencapai sebuah hal penting.
I’m trying to get a new job.
I’m trying to have a house.
I’m trying to approach my client.
Menggunakan “I’m gonna”
Gonna
dalam kalimat tertulis tentu saja salah, namun dalam konteks speaking
tetap benar.
orang lain. Berikut adalah beberapa contoh penggunaan gonna.
I’m gonna eat a pizza tonight.
I’m gonna climb Semeru next week.
I’m gonna teach mathematics in this class next year.

My
Grandpa’s Funeral in Toraja
Last month my family and I went to Toraja to attend Grandpa’s funeral. It was my first time to
go to such a ceremony. We gathered there with our kind in the ceremony.
Overall, the
ceremony was quite elaborate. It took about a week. Several days before the
ceremony was done, grandpa’s body was kept in a series of houses arranged in
circular row around an open field called tongkonan. His corpse was dressed in a fine wearing.
The funeral was performed in two phases. First, we slaughtered
the pigs and buffaloes, and then moved the corpse to face north. In this
ceremony we wore black clothes. After that, the corpse was placed in a sandal
wood coffin. Then, it was brought out of the house and placed on an open
platform beneath the granary. Meanwhile, my uncle, my brother, and I prepared
the wooden puppet and a funeral tower called lakian.
The next phase of the ceremony was held in this place. The coffin is borne from
the house and placed in the lakian. During the day, there were also
buffalo matches. They were great matches. In the night, we were feasting,
chanting, and dancing.
On the last day, the grandpa’s coffin were lowered from
the funeral tower and brought up to the mountainside family graveyard. Great
shouting and excitement followed it from the relatives and the guests. Finally,
we installed the wooden puppet on a high balcony where other puppets
representing the members of a whole family were already there.
The funeral ceremonies made my family and me tired. However,
we were grateful because it ran smoothly.

In a recount
text, you find words and phrases used to start, connect a sentence with the
next one, and
end your composition. Those words and phrases are: First, Then,
After that, Final.
A recount text is a text that tells
about a part of experience. A recount text has an orientation, a series of
events in chronological order, personal remarks on the events, and a
re-orientation that “rounds off” the sequence of events. In the text, you will
find words and phrases used to start, connect a sentence with the next one, and
end your composition.

The Fortune Teller
In
the great city of Taipei, there lived a man called Lin and his wife. They had
no children. Because of this, they were very unhappy. One day, they found a
baby boy outside their door. He was wrapped in a blanket and crying. They took
the baby into their house and called him Sau Ling. They loved him very much.
When
Sau Ling was a young man, a fortune-teller came to the house. "You must
send your son away," he said. "One day he will become a thief and
cause you a lot of trouble."
Mr and Mrs Lin were very sad to hear this.
They believed what the fortune-teller said. They gave Sau Ling some clothes and
money and sent him away.
Several
years later, Sau Ling was having a meal in an inn several miles from Taipei. He
put his bag on the floor near his table. After finishing his meal, he picked up
his bag. "That's strange!" he thought, "It feels so
heavy."He looked inside. It was full of small gold bars. Then he realized
that someone had taken his bag by mistake and left another bag, in its place.
That
evening, a young man came to the inn, "Has anyone seen my bag?" he
asked. Sau Ling was very honest. He returned the bag to him. The young man
thanked him. "You are really very honest," he said, "I shall ask
may to say. He left the house without saying a word. Mr and Mrs Lin never
believed in fortune-teller after that. Sau Ling took them to live with him and
they were very happy and contented until the end of their lives.

The Fox and the Crow
A crow, perched in a tree with a piece of cheese in his beak, attracted
the eye and nose of a fox. "If you can sing as prettily as you sit,"
said the fox, "then you are the prettiest singer within my scent and
sight." The fox had read somewhere, and somewhere, and somewhere else,
that praising the voice of a crow with a cheese in his beak would make him drop
the cheese and sing. But this is not what happened to this particular crow in
this particular case.
"They say you are sly and they say you are crazy," said
the crow, having
carefully removed the
cheese from his beak with the claws of one foot, "but you must be
nearsighted as well. Warblers wear gay hats and colored jackets and bright
vest, and they are a dollar a hundred. I wear black and I am unique."
I am sure you
are," said the fox, who was
neither crazy nor nearsighted, but sly.
"I recognize you, now that I look more closely, as the most famed and
talented of all birds, and I fain would hear you tell about yourself, but I am
hungry and must go." "Tarry awhile," said the crow quickly,
"and share my lunch with me." Whereupon he tossed the cunning fox the
lion's share of the cheese, and began to tell about himself. "A ship that
sails without a crow's nest sails to doom," he said. "Bars may come and
bars may go, but crow bars last forever. I am the pioneer of flight, I am the
map maker. Last, but never least, my flight is known to scientists and engineers,
geometricians, and scholar, as the shortest distance between two points. Any
two points," he concluded arrogantly. "Oh, every two points, I am sure,"
said the fox. "And thank you for the lion's share of what I know you could
not spare." And with this he trotted away into the woods, his appetite appeased,
leaving the hungry crow perched forlornly in the tree.

Let’s
Make a Summary
Every text has its own structure. The
structure of narrative text consists of three parts: complication, and
resolution. Orientation describes scene and introduces the participants of the
story. Complication begins when there is a problem in resolution. The structure
of narrative text occurs in the text variously. A text may have only one
complication and resolution but another text may have more than complication
and resolution.
